The Brief
A flooded Gothic cathedral at night. One figure in cream. Ten frames lit by a single shaft of moonlight.
The Approach
Three iterations to reach it. The first had too many instructions; the lighting looked composited. The second pinned the lighting but lost the framing. The third cut the stack back to six blocks and added one thing — a pool of foregrounds to shoot through. The cathedral, the water, the chiaroscuro all returned together. Caravaggio with one ingredient.
This began with stillness.
